Prebiotics - Stimulating immunity
Prebiotics are substrates which are selectively utilized by host microorganisms thus conferring a health benefit. By adding yeast MOS and ß-glucans, but also inulin plant fibre to the feed, a healthy and balanced gut flora is stimulated. Thanks to the pathogen capturing mannan oligosaccharides (MOS), pathogen invasion is seriously reduced as well. The ß-glucans present in ECOCELL® boost the animal’s immunity in stressful periods, enhancing the animal's endogenous protection mechanisms, e.g. during rearing to boost vaccination efficiency.
Main benefits
- Prebiotic effect (balancing of intestinal microflora)
- Blocks adhesion of gut pathogens (preventing bacterial enteritis and diarrhea problems)
- Boosts the animal's specific and non-specific immune system
-
ECOCELLDry synergistic combination of yeast cell wall MOS and ß-glucans (Saccharomyces cerevisiae derived), further enriched with chicory root inulin (fermentable soluble fiber).
In Poultry
Salmonella and Clostridium are the major concerns in poultry. They reduce production in broilers and breeders. ECOCELL® boosts immunity and prevents adhesion of pathogens to the epithelial layer, resulting in an improved performance
In swine
ECOCELL® has mutiple functions in swine. It can boost the health of sows, resulting in better milk quality and more live born piglets. In piglets it can reduce diarrhea, the main cause of mortality, and increase weaning weight. In the life of a piglet, lots of stressful situations happen that can cause performance losses. Supplementing ECOCELL® during these events, will prevent related problems.
In Ruminants
Milk quality is strongly related to the immune system. Lowering the somatic cell count will increase milk production and quality. ECOCELL® can improve milk quality in lactating cows and reduce problems with diarrhea in calves by boosting the immune system.
Inspiration
High productive animals in challenging environments are extremely susceptible to pathogens which are omnipresent and responsible for diseases leading to performance losses, such as E. coli, Clostridium, Mycoplasma and even Salmonella, an invasive enteric pathogen that challenges both animal health and food safety.
Pathogen control during feed processing is essential to maintain low risk of pathogenic infection in the animals. Salstop® controls a broad spectrum of pathogens in high-risk raw materials and in finished feed, thus guarantees safer feed for the animals.
