Exogenous enzymes are routinely added to feed to improve the nutritional value and to reduce the antinutritional effects of Non-Starch Polysaccharide fibres, phytates, trypsin inhibitors and poorly digested nutrients. NSP enzymes for instance, diminish the nutrient cage-effect of xylan fibres and consequently release valuable nutrients, but at the same time also degrade viscous fibres thereby improving gut health. Our NSP feed enzymes positively influence the gut microflora. Typically, Non-Starch Polysaccharides vary widely between different types of plants and require different enzyme activities. This allows more flexibility in feed formulation, while maintaining technical performance. Another example, by release of phosphorus and reducing the calcium-chelating effect of phytates, are phytases which are known to improve animal performance, create substantial feed cost savings and reduce the environmental impact of animal farming. For all these reasons, Impextraco developed the ZYMPEX® range of enzymes, suitable for different diet compositions.
Main benefits
- Reformulation tools creating important feed savings and ingredient flexibility.
- Releasing valuable nutrients for a higher animal performance.
- Reducing gut viscosity to improve overall digestion and litter quality.
- Generating in vivo prebiotics to balance hindgut microflora and improve fecal health
Product range
Zympex® P (TS) 5000 or 10000
P5000/10000: Dry powder, GMO E.coli 6-type phytase, pepsin-resistant, with very early and broad pH activity range in the animal. Suitable for usage in all kinds of animal feed. P5000/10000 TS: Dry powder, GMO E.coli 6-type phytase with increased (intrinsic) heat stability of 85 °C. Very early and sufficiently broad pH activity range, thus operational from stomach(s) to small intestine. Resistant to gastric pepsin. Suitable for usage in all kinds of animal feed.
Zympex® 006
Dry powder, non-GMO fungal xylanase complex high in complementary NSPase side-activities. Highly recommended for cereal-rich, simple diets. Especially of interest in fattening pig diets, to generate prebiotic arabinoxylan sugars for beneficial fermentation by the extensive hindgut microflora.
Zympex® 008
Dry powder, synergistic non-GMO fungal enzyme blend with complementary side-activities. Highly recommended for complex diets rich in legumes and vegetal proteinaceous byproducts high in soluble NSP fibres related to gut viscosity.
Zympex® 014
Zympex® 014: Dry powder, balanced non-GMO multi-enzyme cocktail rich in relevant side-activities. Highly recommended for complex diets containing vegetal protein meals, especially those with low protein digestibility. Also ideal to use in young animal nutrition such as (pre)starter diets, to complement the endogenous amylase and proteases of the juvenile animal during its crucial development (providing a head start).
Application
By degrading xylan fibres for nutrient release, reduced impact on gut viscosity and formation of prebiotic sugars towards the hindgut, the exogenous enzymes in Zympex® 006 improve digestion and bird performance, such as live weight gain or egg output. On top of that, Zympex® 008 in particular achieves a significant improvement in broiler slaughter yield or dressing percentage, by strongly reducing the presence of soluble NSP fibres and thus undigested feed, which also improves gut health, animal welfare (pasting vents, litter quality) and stimulates feed transit. Zympex® 014 provides extra amylase and (acid-type) protease to help birds cope with complex and suboptimally digestible diets, and specifically to boost the juvenile growth of day-old-chicks.
The Zympex® E. coli 6-phytase provides a peaking activity already very early in the bird's crop but especially in its stomachs, so that the released phosphorus, after being cleaved from phytate, can immediately be absorbed in the designated proximal area of the small intestine. Besides fulfilling the phosphorus requirements, our E. coli phytase also eliminates the antinutritional effects of phytate regarding the bird's growth when being superdosed.

By hydrolysing the typical high fraction of xylan fibres in swine diets, the exogenous enzymes in Zympex® 006 improve nutrient digestion and pig performance, such as live weight gain or reduced diarrhea. Moreover, the generation of selective fermentable arabinoxylan sugars, creates preferred substrates to feed the beneficial bacteria in their vast hindgut flora to produce valuable energy fuels for the local gut cells. On top of that, Zympex® 008 strongly degrades the amount of soluble NSP fibres, which also improves (piglet) gut health, animal welfare and stimulates feed transit. Zympex® 014 provides extra amylase and (acid-type) protease to help young pigs cope with complex and suboptimally digestible diets, as well as assist piglets during their post-weaning dip.
The Zympex® E. coli 6-phytase provides a peaking activity already very early in the pig's stomach, so that the released phosphorus, after being cleaved from phytate, can immediately be absorbed in the designated proximal area of the small intestine to fulfill the animal's requirement. This is of special interest to young piglets and lactating sows because of their higher phosphorus needs. Similar to poultry, our E. coli phytase also eliminates the antinutritional effects of phytate regarding the pig's growth when being superdosed.
