Modern animal production has undergone dramatic changes over the last 50-60 years: genetic selection for high growth rates, as well as improved management and nutrition strategies, have led to increased performance standards. As the intestine is the most important organ to convert feed into meat, it is no secret that the expression “gut health” has entered the collective consciousness and has become the standard of animal industries and research.

Therefore Impextraco designed a gut health promoting product range: the BUTIFOUR® range, based on butyric acid, a key molecule with a biological role in enhancing gut health, as it is naturally produced by the intestinal microflora.

With BUTIFOUR®, we carefully selected different ingredients, depending on the animal species, which are interacting synergistically and are reinforcing the butyrate’s action. Thanks to several in vivo trials, our separate combination for poultry at one hand and pigs, calves or rabbits at the other hand, is thus not a coincidence.
